Exercise, how much and how often?
Exercise is an important part of your puppy’s life, however you should remember that the amount and type of exercise should be controlled as their bones are still growing and too much exercise, especially jumping, can harm their growth and development.
You will notice that your puppy will go from being the life and soul of the party to completely exhausted and fast asleep in the matter of a few minutes. He or she is exercising both physically and mentally all the time and this is extremely tiring for a puppy. Playing games such as rolling a ball for them to chase or hide and seek for as little as 5 minutes at a time is really quite draining for a puppy and this coupled with the exercise they get moving about during their awake time will generally be sufficient.
Once fully vaccinated your puppy can go for short walks on a lead, where he or she can explore new surroundings. The length of exercise can be extended as the puppy grows but should always be monitored and controlled.
